Abstract
This research was conducted with the aim of identifying the factors affecting the development of sitting volleyball. The present research is exploratory in terms of purpose and qualitative in method, which used the grounded theory strategy with the Glaserian approach. In-depth and semi-structured interviews with academic experts, the Federation of Veterans and Disabled Sports, officials of the National Olympic Committee, coaches and former national team players were used to collect research data. The sampling method was purposeful and theoretical. Also, theoretical saturation was achieved by conducting 15 interviews. The four criteria of acceptability, transferability, confirmability and reliability were confirmed in examining the validity of the research. Also, the intra-subject agreement method was used to measure reliability, and the results obtained were at the desired value of 0.83. Based on the results of qualitative data analysis; Effective sports dimensions (growth of sports facilities, improvement of the quality of sports facilities, access to sports facilities), effective support dimensions (utilization of sports marketing experts, development of federation income generation, encouragement of sponsors) and effective management dimensions (strategic perspective, coordination of officials, changing the perspective of disabled people) were identified in identifying factors affecting the development of sitting volleyball; therefore, it is suggested that in the context of introducing the benefits of sports, the importance of addressing it in the disabled community be placed more on the agenda of officials and the media.
