Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze managerial strategies in the development of wrestling, ranging from the empowerment of managers to the optimization of infrastructure. The research employed a qualitative approach, and data were collected through library studies and reviews of scientific articles in Scopus, SID, and Magiran databases using the combined keywords "strategic sports management" and "wrestling development." Out of 80 initial sources, 45 studies were selected based on inclusion criteria (focus on sports management, timeframe of 2010–2024, and full-text availability). Data analysis was conducted using thematic analysis.
The development of wrestling is influenced by numerous structural and contextual factors, each of which can significantly impact the progress of this sport Identifying them helps officials prioritize implementation steps with a realistic outlook. The findings revealed that optimizing sports venues and facilities, suitable infrastructure, financial support, local culture, government policies, talent identification, and talent development have contributed to the structural development of wrestling, transforming it into a prominent and successful sport.
