Abstract
As we enter the 21st century, sport has become an important part of the diplomatic toolbox of countries. Today, sport is increasingly being used as a tool for diplomacy, ideology, nation-building, and access to the international arena and commercial interests, increasing the influence of international sports organizations and major sporting events such as the Olympic Games and World Cups in wrestling, volleyball, Football and other sports, the Intercontinental Cup, the Intercontinental Club Cup, etc. have had a profound impact on the development of the concept of diplomacy. Sport is one of the most important new areas of politics and policy-making and the increase in the soft power of countries. The aim of the present study is to explain what and why sports diplomacy is based on studies conducted in recent years. Also, this article emphasizes the importance of the study examines sound policymaking in the field of sports, sports governance, and sports event management as tools to strengthen diplomacy and confront security threats. The findings indicate that sports, as one of the influential components in international relations and relations between countries, It can push international relations towards greater cooperation between governmental and non-governmental actors and strengthen the soft power of the Islamic Republic in all areas. Therefore, sports can be viewed as a driving force for the development of relations or a platform for it.
